    Hi, My ECPIC just got a crash on its HDMI port
    It still can work with +1 adapter w/monitor or VF but I am worry about it
    Looks not so bad through monitor but I am wondering should I fix and How much it may cost

    prob one of the most common things they need to fix. its not really easy tho. I think most red stores have people who can fix it

    All I know is that the boards can cost from $800-$1200 to replace. Not sure if the ports are attached to the boards.

    1000 bucks for a HDMI well, might be a very memorable lesson

    Ouch.
    The DSMC2 platform hopefully will solve the camera repair troubles associated with a broken port since everything is located on modules now...

    Ports are connected to the board, so that's a swap out. You will probably need to do it anyway (when you upgrade or sell). I had the IO board replaced once. It was 1500.00 for the board and 375.00 for labor.

    Some modules like the jetpack are actually under 1000 and what I meant is that you can probably find a replacement faster to keep shooting versus sending you brain for repair... And fixing a broken HDMI on a module will certainly be cheaper than what it would costs on an EPIC brain today.
