Great stuff Phil! Thanks for all your time, look forward to this lists future updates.

    Questions:
Did you use a PL to 8K PL mount adapter or did DUCLOS adapt the rear of each lens for you?
What is the new 8K PL mount flange depth please?
Does the new mount have the great lugs like the new PL WEAPON mount does?

Lots more questions but I'm aware of how busy you must be.

    Thanks in advance, Stu.

Curious what degree of quality constitutes coverage - I.e. What if any is the rate of degradation beyond the 35mm FF format at the sides.

I doubt s35 lenses will fit at all, the real question for me is outside of vantage hawk and Panavision what's the best set you can own and keep? It's interesting that only the entry level PL sets cover.... I been messing with them lately in case they covered so glad to know finally for sure!

cp2s felt real nice to me vs xeen but I gotta try canon and schneider plus sigma art and otus. Wonder why they are so sought after as still glass and if Otus really is better than cp2? I can't wait for macro 8k

If you own a Weapon 8K and you crop the sensor down to 6K, is the coverage identical to the current Dragon or is it different? Also, is the depth of field different than the current Dragon at 6K? Theoretically it should be the same but you never know with these things.

Identical, same with going lower equates scarlet or Raven. 6k with same pixel size and FOV is what I heard but ain't try it myself yet. Dsmc2 has added utility by better image, no orbs, smear, ADD, proxies and LUTs, it's way better in many ways but same FOV unless you go 8k

No worries Stu. I'll be home later today to fix that typo that Ketch pointed out, but to answer a few questions.

All of this first round of glass tested was PL Mount using a rather early RED 8K PL Mount. The flange depth is the same as all the RED PL Mounts, however, the flocking design and port are optimized for the 40.96x21.6mm Weapon 8K sensor. I would expect the new final design of the Weapon 8K PL Mount to be similar to the Mg PL Mount for 6K. Captive bolts, grip protrusions on the locking collar, likely Magnesium in material.

6K should be same across all Weapons. 8K Weapons just have much larger cut of SAME sensor (almost twice as large).

I think one of the most important types of tests at 8K will be fall off. The difference in vignetting btw FULL FRAME glass at 8K....and MEDIUM FORMAT glass at 8K (where you'd be shooting through their SWEET SPOT).

I have a modded set of Contax Primes and Hasselblad Primes, and this is something I'll be looking very closely at.
