  1. #271 Manure now in Theaters and VOD
Having served as 2nd Unit DP on "Manure", now entitled "Smell of Success" I received this notice from the Producer of it's limited release. I know many REDusers will be eager to see it after following this thread ever since the movie was first in production. Bear in mind that this is not the Directors cut, and David may not have had a chance to participate in the final color correction since I believe there was a falling out between the various Filmmakers. At any rate, with David's fine Cinematography, it should still be a visual treat which I look forward to seeing for the first time this week.

    ###
"The Smell of Success" aka "Manure" was recently acquired for
US distribution. The film has currently been on Premium VOD as a
pre-release screening with various cable providers for the last month.

We will have a US theatrical release today, Friday August 19th, 2011
in various cities across the United States, like Seattle, San Diego,
    Atlanta, Dallas and Phoenix.

We are happy to let you know that we are having one of the releases here
in Los Angeles for 1 week only at:

    AMC Loews Broadway 4
1441 Third Street Promenade Santa Monica, CA

    David,

As always, you provide fantastic insight into what it's like being a top-end DoP and still be working on insane schedules. Your work consistently blows me away, and the best part about it is that its simple. Thanks for all the inspiration over and over.

    Cheers!

I think I own the Red camera that was used on this movie - 388. Hope it didn't fall in manure.

We used 3 reds to shoot 'Manure', and #388 was the C camera.

Glad to hear it was the C camera and not used as often. I hope it wasn't the one kicked by the Giraffe! lol.

So is this why directors should always have final cut in their contract?
