Hi Aus Users, looking for advice.

Without going into the politics of our current government, the offered tax break of $20000 on equipment is quite a sweetener for small business. Does anyone know of the logistics of buying from RED overseas and still being able to claim the offer?

    Cheers

I would assume that if you bought RED equipment new and had it shipped to Australia and paid import duty and GST when it came in, you'd certainly be eligible to claim it if you used the equipment for business purposes.

Being a upgraded Dragon owner, do you believe that would include a sensor upgrade? appreciate the feedback.

It was in the budget announcement last night Mark. Yet to properly passed by the senate, but am sure that Labor won't oppose it.

And don't worry Bjorn, its a blatant vote grabbing exercise. Won't last for long. Australia has a great history of knee jerk reactions. Occasionally, they enable us to have a leg up, most of the time its smoke and mirrors.
