  1. #1 For $3K...
For $3000 you could practically use it once and throw it away. All the freaking out and complaining and unbelievably unrealistic feature requests I've read on here since NAB...I just can't figure some of you guys out. :umm: I've barely been able to stand reading all this stuff. When Scarlett gets released, I'll snap up six of them for handheld work (if they'll let me buy that many) and be the happiest guy in the world.

If RED gave some of you guys a goose that laid golden eggs, you would:

    A) Cut the goose in half to get all the golden eggs at once.

    B) Perform laproscopic surgery on the goose so you could look inside it and determine how many eggs were coming so you could take out an appropriate line of credit to buy an Epic.

    C) Add genlock, timecode, detachable Lens, wider wings, eight audio tracks, Mysterium X aerodynamic feathers and beak mounted night vision to the goose, then throw it off a cliff to see if it would still fly or plummet to the ground like a brick...or....

    D) Chill out, get some nice footage of the goose with your Scarlett, and enjoy the occasional golden egg!

    Just curious...

I agree. As spec'd they could sell it at the checkout stand at Walgreen's as a "disposable cinema film camera" for $2,999.95 and design it to "self-destruct in 90 days" and they'd still sell the heck out of it. :)

The only thing worse than the whiners are the self-righteous people who start threads to put down others in an effort to make themselves look/feel better...

$3,000 would also be a very helpful (not to mention tax-deductible) donation to any needy charity if you're looking just to throw your money away brother... :alien:

Speaking of which, Best Buy has a 1080p camcorder blister-packed, hanging on the rack, for $169. Aiptek. I knew Aiptek had the original 720p version, but this was 1080/30P @ 1440x1080, and the comical thing was that it was hanging on a peg in a blister pack, like it was a commodity, like SD cards or headphones or something.

    It was surreal.

Again with the same topic. This has been discussed to death since the Scarlet announcement, a little longer than 15 days ago. Check out the old threads and don't talk about the same thing again. Please guys change the subject to something more productive.
