Actually my military experience has nothing to do with colors - if anything it would have the opposite effect and all my post would try to "blend in" as much as possible...
I'm technical & creative director for DERYL Group and the principal DOP there and I found using color when explaining both creative and technical issues to my team-mates makes life that much more easier. I damn to hell all the "standard" whiteboards that comes with black, red and blue markers.
This would be the "minimum" to make me happy:
I can't believe we have spent the last 10 years going through the digital transition and these issues are even worth bringing up. I can sum it up in five words: It's all about the acquisition. You've been watching dvd's for years. Did they shoot them on mp2's? When will the world regain balance and this issue be laid to rest as it should have been years ago...

The 5k Mysterium X which is at the heart of Epic is going to be an upgrade to Red next summer so Red will have more rez and more dynamic range. Red will then be a true 4k. Epic is likely to have a more powerful FPGA along with the lighter body and wireless control.
Actually, I'm pretty sure Jim (or someone else at RED) said the Red One sensor upgrade will be the same resolution as the current sensor, but with better dynamic range.
