I'm looking for someone to discuss this with. I'm very much interested in the future of VR and the future potential of immersive narrative cinema it holds. I have some theories both on the narrative as well as the technical side but I am not a DP (director - guilty) so I'm looking for someone to discuss this with. I own an Oculus Rift so I'm doing some private research from my home at the moment. If anyone's up for it please e-mail me at remyschepers@gmail.com :)

I think 3D audio is not just limited to 180 degree, but also include in range(distances), in directions above and below , in front and back as well as either side. One way is to use binaural microphone to make it. Currently, I am also working on it.
you can check what I recorded : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lccM88jhBiQ
