OK - so I figure there are now more than 1500 RED's out in the wild, but the audio forum is far too quiet. Footage posted so far looks great, but the audio samples have been somewhat light on the ground.

Would love get some feeback from people who have successfully recorded four channels of audio and separated the channels to independent audio tracks from the Quicktime proxies in Final Cut. The new Red XLR cables doing the trick? Hiss problem solved? Any luck using wirless lapel microphones and receivers?

Still a month before our number comes up, so these forums are our only form or 'trial-and-error' for now.

    Cheers in advance.

    Oz Lensman,

Len Moskoqitz of Core Sound has done some very promising tests with his tetramic (ambisonic mic that makes use of the Red's four audio channels).

We are very excited by this possibility and are expecting on of Len's splendid microphones soon. Our camera doesn't arrive for another month or so as well but we hope to begin recording with this mic to a PC in the interim.

    David,
Did you ever write up details about your 4-ch snake and what it cost you?
