The 48v is works, but the instant it is turned on, there is a terrible hiss in the system and the audio quality is terrible. When we turn it off and use a standard, self-powered mic, it sounds perfect.

From what I've read here, we aren't the only ones with the issue. We are using the cable that was included with the camera.

Any ideas? Are we the only ones having this issue?

Yes we are indeed on the case.. and this is not related to the earlier hiss issue.

How hard would it be to make the little DC label flash when the voltage drops below a certain threshold?

Running the latest firmware (2.1.7), I've been shooting 2k 2:1 120fps all weekend long to the RED RAID, without any trouble, and no LCD flickering. Do you have any other footage on your drive?

Related to the LCD, I have had a problem with the LCD showing only blue when the camera is first booted. If I disconnect and then reconnect the LCD, it works fine.

    Anyone else seen this?

    kylemallory,
We too have had this issue a few times in the field. The first time it happened, the camera didn't finish booting and actually reset itself somehow. A few hours later, after shutting it down for a while, the screen was blue after booting until we disconnected and reconnected the lcd.

Since the upgrade to 15 we have also had the flickering LCD issue. Have swapped cables and jiggled connectors to no avail. Other issue is that the camera occasionally does not recognize the LCD on boot up resulting in a blank screen. Had the blue screen once but that was solved by a reboot.

ramping works, well sorta. Just loaded 2.1.7 in hopes of the ramping working again. It ramps, but once it reaches it's end frame rate, it begins to speed up again. If I remember right, it should continue recording at the selected end frame rate until you stop recording. Happens in 2k 2:1 R28 and R36 as well as 3k 2:1. Anyone else experience this?
