I'm not a DIT... but I've been trying to do my own creative lut to use within the IPP2 pipeline in the camera (Monstro) using Redcine-X.

What I get exporting through the menu "IPP2 LUT...

Remember Dalsa problem to make a good sensor, then the end of the Aaton Digital Penelope due to the sensor QC. Monstro Dragon having problems doing perfect sensors for VV rocketing...

Komodo is really another beast. A7s3 is much more battery efficient and 256Gb SD card gives you 3h40 of 140mbs UHD 422 10 bit footage.

Shooting A7s3 is like going on vacation compared to Komodo...

IMHO it's more a personal fascination of RED's CEO/CFO about US military. In many ways they behave like kids in front of a christmas tree, and sometimes we also get one toy to play with.

I had mine broken with some broken pins (due to power overload or corrosion?). To prevent current overload I've invested in a Core EVO DSMC2 module. I still don't know if the failure was power...

but it's a 5 years old camera. I think A7s1 had better lowlight performance (I think A7s3 has a tiny less low light performance as the first gen camera (with his HDMi 4k output).
