Well the first thing you will discover is that the Step Up to RED includes the weight! So "DSLR" mobility kind of goes out the window. The form-factor may look the same, but the mass is obv different...

Never tried TC-lock/dual recording with my 240 (so that is my disclaimer) -
SDI is the only way I am aware the PIX will accept TC data from the RED. If so then the fact the TC even _closely_ matches...

Call Sachtler. Fluid modules are pricey. Their tech service guys can tell you what to expect.

By "metadata" you mean, say, an SDI-feed? I don't think actual Metadata gets pumped out within the image to an external HD recorder (I use a PIX 240).

Have not heard either way if QT supports 4K (can't imagine it not doing so) - but -
you say you already _have_ exported QT files. And presumably tried (and failed??) to get your 4K files to...
