Marc, I use the sony mic as a scratch mic when I need the camera to be very light.
The cable that comes out of the h4n and the audio that comes out of the h4n.. again.. scratch only.

yeah i've seen it work, it's so awesome. It's just that, I don't want to be in a position where it goes bust when I need to be shooting and editing straight for two years.
