The DSMC2 cameras can record up to 4K ProRes in camera (422, not 444). I don't do that often because 4K ProRes is as big as 8K Redcode. :)

Hardly a surprise... Helium and Monstro generate 35.5 megapixel images with 16-bit color... that's a HUGE amount of data. That amount of computing power is a lot of computational work...

I've been using a Peak Design 30L backpack for my Red gear... works nicely for that, though it's not great for trekking (no room for extra stuff). So for more intensive trips I use my McHale...

In light of how small a slice of the GPU market that is, it's largely irrelevant as far as its affect on NVidia and its pricing.

Probably just cleaning up legacy garbage; there aren't even any 32-bit x86 processors left, so why bother supporting it? It's a waste of time and disk space. And maintenance effort.

That's obviously not the reason. Making 7nm DRAM cells is FAR less complicated than making processors. Nearly every fab launches using simpler to manufacture things like memory, so that's hardly new....

That's false. Helium can easily fill an IMAX screen also -- it doesn't do as well in low light as Monstro, but it does still have 8K resolution and beautiful color.

My guess is it's to showcase Apple's new content. It's investing a lot in that.
