It wasn't one television operation in 30 years, it was five different ones. You said I "bashed" other companies, which if you look at my original post, you will see I just gave RED a prop. I didn't...
Respectfully disagree. I worked in broadcast TV news for three decades, with mostly Sony equipment. Hundreds and hundreds of cameras. Not one single time did Sony "fix" anything for free. ...
Looking for anybody selling a Zeiss Otus 100mm ZF.2 in good shape.
Those long shots I don't think are a slider rail, but rather a gimbal and a hover board.
FPN is fixed pattern noise.
You won't get that kind of service from Arri or Sony. Good on you Jarred!
Just rereading all the great stuff Chris shared in this post. What a great film (still) and resource!
Shot you a PM...no response.
Almost all my gear, I bought used. The reality is, you don't know what that mag has been through, 50 hours or not. The previous owner might have dropped it into a toilet. I have to say, that's not...
At the end of the day, the Scarlet-X shoots compressed REDCODE raw. 16 bits (linear I think...). Raw is key and this kind of raw with so much freedom is the beauty of these cameras. Sensor is key...
Changing the ISO while shooting may reveal problems on set that you might not notice if you set ISO and forget it. Like noise that you won't see until you bring up the levels in post when it is too...
I get 90 mins on a 95wh battery and approaching 4 hours on my 190 wh batteries. With the old school REDVOLTS in the side handle I get about 20-25 minutes.
I have a 2011 Scarlet-MX that still works great. It was my first RED camera and when I see a title like "SCARLET MX worth in 2021" my thought is it is "worth" keeping. I know the original poster...
This will sound (and is) pedestrian after Phil's post, but one thing about ISO I find very useful, is giving the colorist a starting place on multi-cam shoots. I have a Helium Weapon, a Scarlet-MX,...
That is damn cool....
Other than the limited focal lengths it is hard to beat the Otus...there is also a 100mm.
Nice pad dood....
.
Curious..why quibble about semantics when you know what both he and I mean....? So no, I don't get the point, unless the point is just to quibble.
Absolutely agree. I am not quibbling about the value of my camera....it has made a lot of money....especially when it was still new....it shot a lot of Under Armour ads with Tom Brady...
Right...and ONE of those cameras cost $50K.
Maybe I don't understand what you are saying. But "launch" to me means when the cameras were first available to purchase. Epic-W was $30K unless you had a Scarlet-W on order that they were unable...
Andreas refers to launch...when the full blown camera was 50k. The DSMC2 designation just brought all the cameras up to the Weapon Spec. My main camera, started life as a Forged Stealth Weapon...
Actually, that was the price for RED Epic-W Helium. RED Weapon Helium was indeed $50K. https://www.fdtimes.com/2016/10/11/red-8k-helium-super35mm-cameras/
got any footy you have shot with this rig?
I wonder if there is something that they do in the de-clicking of a Nikon mount lens that might mess with what the moumt/camera is looking for? As stated, my Otus have no mods.....yet.....
