+1 on checking for USA compatibility (plug and voltage)
I would've interested in 2 of them. Also make sure they come in U.S compatible plugs (3 prongs) for american customers...the default seems to be a default 2 prong euro style.
And has Anyone...
Windows all the way.... Better and much faster hardware available and way less restrictions! Beside better virus protection, the Mac no longer offer advantages over windows. Just my opinion.
- I hate not having very cheap media option for the sole purpose of storing firmwares and other settings (not for shooting purposes)
- I hate having to black shade as it takes too long
- I hate its...
The strange thing is the RED reps at NAB that we talked to could not confirm if the top fan would be compatible with the RED top mount... :-|
I have the same fear...will we have the same issues as early Epics? As in no playback enabled, no audio recording etc... And having to wait months after the release to get all the options and...
My feelings exactly Mark!... While it is cool to see all those new awesome gadgets at the Red booth, half of them disappear and half of them don't come out until at least a year later. We are...
FYI...those HMI are not flicker free at shutter speed higher than 1/60 or so....and they are also not hot re strike . So if you are not doing any high speed shoots or don't mind waiting 10 minutes...
yes Mark that part is an annoyance...the way I work around it is simply put your mouse cursor on the audio track of the video file you want to move....move that audio down to audio layer 2 (or 3 or 4...
Lol Mark...I have the opposite feelings....I went back to FCP7 to work on something specific for a client and I couldn't stand how antiquated and picky FCP7 is... Cs6 felt like a real workhorse in...
what Stephan said exactly! make sure the "render at maximum quality" is not checked. That will save you a tremendous amount of time! The "scale to frame size" also speeds things up a lot (as opposed...
With all the talk about workflow/transcoding concerns for current and future RED dragon cameras, maybe we should start a new thread dedicated to that so it doesn't get buried in here and so RED can...
Maybe the amount of workflow concern in this thread will hopefully show that there need to be a better more efficient and cheaper way to deal with render times for everybody. I wish RED would partner...
That sounds about right Viktor. Especially with maximum quality and full debayering enabled.... Now...as soon as you uncheck "render at maximum quality" your time to render drops drastically. (Try...
I wouldn't equate editing at 1/8th resolution a system that "eats R3Ds for breakfast".... it's pretty painless to edit the footage even at 1/2 resolution...the problem is with exporting and...
With the advancement on GPU technology, is there no way to start leveraging that for debayering purposes as opposed to having to get two red rockets for every workstation?
I hate to say but a lot of...
I know...it was shown at NAB 2012...we're now approaching NAB 2013 and it still not out... :-/
JAcek how do we go about renting one before we buy it?....and....your website really needs updated lol ;)... None of your newer products for Epic are listed. It's a shame to not show such genius...
Lol...so true!!!!!
ironically there are things that were shown and announced at NAB 2012 that are still not out... so I've learn to keep my expectation and excitement down. ;)
Interested! USA
Also a smaller and less bulkier version of the optitron would be great!... One that can be mounted natively and easily on rods and take minimal space and be used like a regular follow focus. :)
Well it doesn't hurt to "revive" an idea and bring it back to light.... ;)
And yes reusing the CF cards from RED one for that purpose would be great!
Has RED considered doing a very cheap and very small SSD size that we could use ONLY for storing Black shading maps, Key mapping export, firmware upgrades etc.. this "SSD" would only need to be like...
