I prefer computer playback as well. For the DRM however, the Redray acts like a 'dongle' to slow down the pirates.
Having no .red playback codec also forces them to transcode as well.

A truer flame effect is more than just intensity flicker.

So , I'm assuming you are in MOCO mode, you think that the camera is always free running at the framerate you have it set for, and it only captures a frame when it sees the trigger pulse...
