I have been mentioning and waiting for this for a couple years now! I really wanted a super solid OEM unit that would allow Epic to natively record ProRes and handle all the details like...
I have seen them, they work but I have not been impressed with the images as of yet. Today, I would gladly watch with glasses over the autostereo that I have seen. But Monday starts NAB and I will...
NO I hope not!
I love that Jim has a vision and ideas and he can just execute! Once you add a board and stockholders there are way too many voices to not take risks and to just maximize...
Great to hear again, I was #115 and I am still shooting 200 days a year at 90% Epic. Very much looking forward to NAB 2013!
Love you too Baby! ;)
Prost,
Rich
I just finished up a week of shooting with my newly arrived Bolt and I have to say it is bad-Ass! I am really happy with it.
It is small (much smaller than the CamWave), no delay, it connects in...

Oh Suck, Dave you were out there doing second unit on my job, its bad enough you get to out and have fun at the races but while i am stuck in studio, but you didn't tell me you ran in to Jim! Well...
All 3 of mine are paid off :) I am looking forward to the Meisler and more so for Dragon!
Thank You for the Love guys! :)
Prost to Red,
Rich
Very nice and some great operating there!
Cool, looks interesting.
Agreed! I have $350k in film cameras collecting dust (ok, they were $350k). I have 20 years looking through Optical VFs and I really think they are just a tool to help the "only-film" guys...
Agreed! The mag option is awesome, but when we roll an EVF with variable peaking option would be very helpful!
hint-hint :)
It must be DRAGON?
Looking forward to it!
Prost,
Rich
The concept/ general idea is solid! I think the future of 3d in perhaps 10 years is an approach like this.
The precision will be the concern. Getting the alignment to be very very good and most...
Ahh, great, thanks Ketch
Now that I have a pre-order in, has anyone heard of a guess on delivery date? 6 days - 6 months?
Hey Jarred, with the module is there still only one HDsdi out?
What FIZ systems currently work with the Meizler?
I agree with Jason on this one. I totally think we can post converge and bring objects into positive when shooting parallel. We have to do it well and deliberately and we need to measure how much...
Pawel, true, I figured out those functions, but how would you measure positive and neg parallax if cameras are parallel and not converged, if the monitor is not doing a convergence?
Its interesting you say that. I was evaluating that very monitor last week, but I returned it because it can not do a basic convergence and therefore no parallel 3D measurements... but I really...
I like this idea, I vote for this option.
What are you guys using for on-set HIT? Davio? Do Re Me? Transvideo or Panasonic 910 monitors?
Jason, you are right on with your thoughts on 1080 cameras, live TV and non-3D savy post houses! Great points to consider.
Meciej, the idea of using the canon tilt-shift lenses is very...
Whats everyone else doing, camera converged or parallel?
Thanks for the replies everyone! It sounds like I am not alone on my thoughts about shooting parallel.
Pawel,
I totally agree, all of your arguments make sense. I don't know how anyone can...
True, I did have to blow up the in camera converged so they would appear the same size. It was by 2% that I zoomed in. I would shoot at least 4k for stereo to have extra pixels for post fixes.
