This is a big deal for the doc guys out there, thank you!
One issue you'll run into is the weight of your carry-on, I'm assuming you're not checking it.
I've found that going early to the check-in desk and letting them know you have expensive equipment...
so fucking cool, it makes me super pumped that RED is delivering products that make our lives so much easier. I definitely have my eye on this.
about 20K
Thanks, it isn't quite as crazy as it looks haha.
It's actually a tokina 11-16, shutter was quite high, something like 1/250th. And unfortunately I don't own a redmote, hopefully soon.
It's a skyjib 8, huge copter, but it gets the job done
Had some time to do some test flights with a new copter rig for the Scarlet, only the second flight so still working out the kinks, but it's getting there.

awesome short, really beautiful
Thanks Brian,
that makes a lot more sense. Thank you for taking the time to explain it clearly. Also bob, I've heard expose to the right constantly on the forum so it's something I've...
It seems very unclear and everyone has a different take on it.
If you are going to be coloring off of redcolor3, then should you just expose based on redcolor3 histogram and posts, or should you...
regardless can't complain with 4.5 lbs for a 4K camera, I'm just brainstorming how to get that weight down as much as possible
looks awesome, I didn't see a price on their website. If you wouldn't mind sharing, what did you pay and what did that include?
can you post an r3d for us to play with
...the more you know...
Hey Everyone,
I've been renting out my Scarlet package for a few months now and of course everyone is VERY happy with the image and can't believe how easy it is to work with etc. etc.
BUT I've...
Just got the O'connor O-box, awesome, rugged, compact, multiple mounting options. Everyone I've rented to really likes it as well. For the price/quality you can't go wrong.
Just got a set of the MPs, and I have to say HOLY SHIT! I just want to shoot ALL THE TIME!!!!
I was even considering replacing some of the metal exterior of the scarlet body with plastic to cut weight down, again not practical for most applications, does that violate warranty?
not to side track this, but I'm curious what is the lightest anyone has been able to strip the RED Epic/Scarlet down to, for most people this may seem like overkill, but there are uses for it...
RED's website doesn't sell replacement power cables, only the charger (this is probably because there is no need,if it's not a belt clip, v-mount, etc.)
I'm looking for just a power cable, are...
I do a lot of work where having scratch audio from the scarlet would be really useful. The best option I've seen is a modded rode mic, but I would like something smaller.
What's the smallest,...
hey this is a little off topic, but...
I've read a lot about people believing that 2K 60 fps is not up to par, does the same go for 2K 24p or is this just an issue with the higher frame rate?
...
have you done this process with multiple frames, from different shots
This is pretty late, but THANK YOU. Just used this tutorial and it was a huge help.
I've gone the redvolt route too and although charging, swapping and having more elements can be frustrating, overall I've really liked it. I do mostly documentary work so I can't argue for using them...
