Game of Thrones should be shooting in Northern Ireland around then... I'm trying to get on that crew now. That's Alexa though.
Could potentially help you out with the NZ stuff, drop me a PM
Hi Mark, that link to the Facebook note isn't working?
Some soundies have Lemo cables that go straight from their Lockit to the Sync jack on the Epic. If not (ie you're using BNC) then you'll need to use Red's breakout cable...
There's a good comparison write up here (http://www.ryanewalters.com/Blog/blog.php?id=7418575377215665840 - Ryan also posts here I think) although it doesn't cover Superspeeds. Having shot with both...
That was my impression back in the days it was being developed, but looking at the list of autofocus-supported lenses that doesn't seem to be the case... and the only old post from Jared I could dig...
I think the only difference between the mounts is that Canon lenses contain their own focus motors, whereas Nikon lenses use a motor in the mount, so RED was able to build their own/tweak it to suit...
Hugely impressive rig! Love that the cameras are all named after Firefly characters too, that's my kind of setup :)
Hey Ketch, quick question about your WC top plates on the quad module and module adaptor - did you find it impedes airflow out of the brain at all? We have the VF top plate and would love to stick a...
It's like someone tried to copy Bangkok airport (but smaller), got halfway and was like "eh, good enough"
I got the impression that was derived from the iPad doing a lookup on the wifi network it's connected to, not GPS on the Epic itself.
The little TVLogic LCDs seem to be fairly popular with ACs over here, and will take both HD-SDI and HDMI.

Also the new SmallHD DP7...
Technically you pay the same rate as GST here to bring goods into the country... basically if you freight stuff here (particularly to a business address) they'll hold it in Customs till you pay...
I've had a mixed experience from Air New Zealand - occasionally they'll let me check several pelican cases of gear in at no additional cost, other times they'll make me pay the full excess baggage...
Yep ours bus-powers just fine.
We took all our gear out to our local Pelican case distributor (http://roadmastercases.co.nz) - they measured it all up, specced up the number of cases, and custom cut the foam to fit everything....

Not sure about the cable, but just be aware you might have to add in a 2ms delay to the PIX audio input to get it to match the video (due to the delay on SDI out) which means it won't match up to the...
I've received the log files from the post house, and have just emailed them through to support(at)red(dot)com, but copying it here as well as email communication seems to be a little unreliable.
Hi Nick, thanks for responding - weirdly I can't find any trace of that reply from RED in my inbox, spambox, or anywhere else. It appears the interwebs have eaten it.
As for the log file, as...
Hey guys,
Not normally one to complain, hugely satisfied with our RED stuff thus far, but I've been dealing with some genlock/dropped frame/audio issues on behalf of a client with 2x Scarlets, and...
Takes a fair lot longer than that with the 5K R3Ds I've been stabilising!
But yeah, you're right - I'm not sure the gyro data is going to be as practical for that as you might think, but a level...
You're a Kiwi Mark? You're not related to Brae Toia by any chance?
Ryan, if you drop me an email at nick@halcyondigital.co.nz I'm sure we could sort you for a test shoot in July.
Trying changing the Epic's SDI output resolution between 1080p and 720p, and also change it's refresh rate between Auto, 29.97hz, 25hz, etc (reboot between each change)
9/10 this has fixed it for me...
