Hi Scarlet owners,
I'm looking to rent a Scarlet camera package for the next two weeks in Atlanta, GA.
It would serve as the B-cam to my Epic-X on a set of corporate talking-heads greenscreen...
Zero problems here for over a year. Had to re-boot my Epic during a shoot once or twice.
I suspect many problems arise from users mixing firmware. Camera, Redmags (format), Redmote, and RedCineX...
Wow, I was wondering this for months now. I thought I was somehow
waisting valuable space. Strange how each clip plays the entire folder. I get it now - thanks!
I second that request. I'm excited about the sharpness, sensitivity, and DR of course, but faster blackshading and cooler operation would eliminate the Epic's only shortcomings. Go RED team!!...
Ditto. Speed of completing orders has improved dramatically on RED.com I got my REDmote and 128GB REDmag just in time for my shoot tomorrow. Thanks guys!
In 2006 I went "tapeless" with the Panasonic HVX200.
This year I went "filmless" with the RED Epic X. Keep up the great work! Lovin' it!
Just tried this and it solved the problem! Thanks! Waveform is back when I set the Epic output to 720p. :)
Now I just have to choose whether to record a backup 1080p signal to my PIX240, or use...
BTW, I have the same trouble displaying a waveform on my Panasonic 1710 when connected to an ALEXA or any HDMI source (Canon, Sony FS100). So this problem is not limited to RED Epic, but is a...
I'm hooked, can't wait to see it. Flying Monkeys! - can't beat that.
Looks like someone got carried away with the ol' S-curve on color correction. :(
Love that trailer comparison - thanks for sharing. But I gotta say the original looks like it was lit really flat compared to the new one.
The look has improved IMO, even if the story may not...
Bravo!!!
Great article, but somewhat biased IMO. Now I better understand why some accuse the RED of being a "scaled image." Not true, but now I understand the confusion better. It's a Bayer pattern image -...
Absolutely - great point. Us old guys remember! It was a classic bait-and-switch.
Thanks for the warning. :) I'll be disabling HDMI right away! I wonder if that will help conserve battery power...
Awesome features! Can't wait to try it. I have some occasional crashes with 3.2.16 but the features are so compelling I have stuck with it.
I'm stumped about what new features to ask for now. It's...
This was very helpful! I had the same problem and assumed it was a firmware issue. Easy fix, thanks!
Exactly! I used to own a Bolex with a pistol grip. Even nicer one than your photo. :)
Thanks for the ideas Victor. Your second link lead me to this other possible solution:...
Has anyone heard of a pistol grip that works to trigger the Epic? Seems it would be fairly easy to manufacture and make a handheld rig a whole lot more useable.
Here is the only thing close that...
LOL!! =}
Jim, Thanks for continuing to think big even while responding to our incremental needs and requests. Looking forward to it...
Outstanding feature! Planning to use this on the next shoot!
Thanks,
Thanks for the great new features.
I too experienced the split screen of death, but fortunately I rebooted (with no REDmag) and the problem went away. Seems to be working fine now with or without...
I use a PIX240 with my Epic, and the results are good. But it's unwieldy - it unbalances the camera, and requires power.
An H.264 / ProRes module from RED would still interest me. Relatively...
