Thank you Phil, really appreciate it! Will try that when I'm there next time.
We had a stripped down RED Gemini with a 35mm Schneider Xenon lens on it and even at slow speed the image was shaking...
Phil do you have any tipps on how to setup the eMotimo ST4 with Dana Dolly? My rental place has this exact combo and it's very inaccurate with a very stripped down RED/small lens.
Thanks for that but laptops with bigger GPU get bulky. I think the new XPS 15 is quite perfect for my needs, and with Thunderbolt 3 I still can add a GTX 1080 if needed :)
Well I guess it was worth waiting! Just found out about the Dell XPS 15 2018 with i9

Thanks Misha, this is a good point for saving money for the time :)
Wow thanks for your efforts Brandon, that was very detailed testing, helps a lot!
Would be amazing if you could test .R3D playback in PP (1080p sequence), maybe with Lumetri and 1-2 LUTs applied. If 1/2 res is good it's very tempting for me.
I don't need a very highend laptop,...
Maybe somebody can help: How good is the Microsoft Surface Book 2 15" for editing R3D?
Using Premiere Pro, After Effects and Resolve.
Specs look good, altho not sure about that low-power CPU:

I bought 2 Aputure lights and love them! 120d and 300d. Good output, good CRI, lots of light modifiers, portable, battery powered if needed (12A V-Mount needed), cheap. Also I like how they support...
Regarding RED internal ND: You guys do know that RED has a EF+PL Motion Mount?

Canon 11-24mm f/4 or Sigma 12-24mm f/4 are pretty good non-cine options to start. You might want to use lower ISO and compression when dropping the resolution to 6K or less to avoid noise/grain. I...
Well...it kinda is now if your Epic-X MX breaks down and there's no more replacement parts for it. Good to know (thanks Brent)!
How much will it cost to upgrade from Epic-X (MX) to Epic Dragon (DSMC1)?
Something fun would be: recording your dreams and save them as video. Might wanna use encryption tho :)
Depends on where you live and work I guess. For small to medium clients you might become "the guy with the RED", as it kinda was for me for a while. I did buy my first Scarlet-X not only because of...
I just watched Blood Road and saw that they shot this movie with REDs and Cooke Anamorphics. Great feature doc with beautiful images!

Performance on my midrange laptop is amazing! Thank you Adobe!
Well that was fast, THANK YOU Adobe!!
I'm stoked how fast the playback of 8K (7.5K WS) footage is on my midrange Windows laptop!
Yes please make Helium R3D support public available soon. I'm working on a project where I had to inform the director/editor that his PP will not be able to import the files. Feels kinda strange to...
