Can the REDRAY sit vertically in a vented box (for low profile wall mounting)?
Thanks,
Phil
Any idea what would be the optimum monitor for a 4x video wall (powered by REDRAY)? Which one did RED use at NAB last year? Any other choices?
Thanks,
Phil
Trent, the only reason I ask, is that we heard that if the camera is hooked up to a power source, there could be residual power to the media. And that if you eject while the camera is on, if there...
I'm confused. Are you saying that it is normal to "unmount" the media(using the eject command) while shutting down? Or are you saying it is ok to turn off the camera without unmounting and just...
Bump.
Yes, need a couple of simple plugins. Please PM me or post any info or referrals.
Thanks,
Phil
Just FYI. Warp Stabilization is fairly new, but you can still stabilize the old way by selecting Track Motion from the Animation menu, then select the Track Type as Stabilize. I would do this...
This is great! What kind of rig did you use for the gyrostabilized aerials?

I just realized you were talking shutter speed, not frame rate. We use a 180° shutter by default, (1/48th of a second for 24fps). When it comes to high frequency vibrations, it looks bad at any...
We've been asked for 24fps so that's what we've been shooting. However, we've also been told driving plates look best when you are driving slow (max 25mph), especially the side views. When it's not...
I can send you the AE6 file if you want it. You would have to link your own footage and make adjustments. Just PM me your email address.

Here is an experiment I did in AE using blurs, masks without Shine (which I haven't updated to AE6 yet).

To me it looks like a combination of radial blur, shine, fast blur and masks with track mattes using existing footage (no greenscreen) in After Effects. The trick is the order things get layered...
Congrats!
It's great to see that the original Red One is still going strong.
Hi Jon. I don't believe that the cineflex has been designed to work with Red cams. Last I heard, their "Elite" system holds the Alexa.
We typically fly the Epic in the Eclipse gymbal with great...
Good question. We looked into longer lengths, but ended up going with standard 20 footers and they were barely long enough.
We have an Optitek mount and taped the iris adjustment. Anything we think will move from the vibrations of the car we taped off.
Thanks, Asif!
We built this rig for shooting driving plates (also called process plates). For those not familiar with them, driving plates are layered behind actors to make it look like they are driving. The...
Many thanks for all who replied. For me, PCam was the best solution.

Thanks Steve! I concur that Getty has been slow with 4K but we've been shooting it exclusively for over 4 years now (plus 5K now). We've also represented other 4K libraries for almost as long.

Is there a table anywhere that shows the angle of view of standard focal lengths with all the Epic/Scarlet resolution combinations?
Thanks,
Phil

After reading this thread, it's unclear to me if the iris will work on the Tokina 11-16 pre-profile. Anyone tried it?
Thanks,
Phil
Elizabeth, I wouldn't want to hold a Fig Rig containing an Epic for long, but for a zip line trip, it should be OK.
