Yep, would love to have more controls too. Have sent Feedback to Apple about this, but never to RED. Maybe it's more in their hands as they provide the plugin?

I think FCPX automatically decides the speed for you, depending on your hardware and what flows right... But you have no chance of setting this manually.

I could be wrong though, just guessing....
