Yes, we definitely need shirts/hats etc. with the Made in America logo!
Absolutely! I am trying to hold off buying this 50" so I can get the 65". Don't know how long I can last though!
Did anyone in Seattle get one of these yet?? I'm here for the next 4 days and really want to test it out with my 27" iMac.
Well they have to figure a way to make us buy again in a couple years...a line of "True 4k" televisions.
This is incredible. How stuttery does it look at 16 Hz?
Wait, WHA?? The freakin' Macbook Air can send a 4k signal over a Thunderbolt to HDMI cable to the Seiki??
I never even considered that I might be able to send this panel a 4k signal with my iMac. It has a GTX 680MX...I doubt that can handle Ultra HD? I would need a Thunderbolt to HDMI 1.4 adapter cable...
One factor I rarely see mentioned is screen/scene contrast. Meaning the higher contrast the screen displays, the more noticeable individual pixels become. I notice this on the new 27" iMac: the...
I really like this point Phil. When some people complained that they had no use for 6k and RED should release a 5k Dragon, I was like just pretend it's 5k with a 1k look around! It is indeed many...
That is an interesting thought but it seems like the vertical resolution would be sub 2k after debayer which would have to effect the quality of the image. I wrote a little post on what they are...
It's actually downsampling from more like 5.8k. Notice Sony always says it's an 8k x 2k sensor. That is a 4:1 aspect ratio which is impossible since the footage is actually 17:9. It's better to think...
4k footage from both cameras will have been down-sampled (the F65 from 5.8k and Dragon from 6.1k) and will look great because of that. Nobody can test Dragon yet but RED always has delivered so I...
Unfortunately it's a known issue with Premiere + Rocket + 5kHD footage. Threw me for a loop when I first discovered it too. Hopefully Adobe will have a fix soon.
Steve Gibby said his 2 x pre-production serial number Epics were in there.
I put in an order for 3 Dragon sensor upgrades but didn't pay a dime. I don't have to until my serials are called.
I think it's best to use Ocam's razor with RED: the ASICs just came back and...
As awesome as it is for us to watch that, it must be on a completely different level for you to see your original vision realized in such a complete way, Jim. SO thankful that we get to be the...
That fire is what makes this such a unique and close community. The people who are drawn to it have become my best friends. It's incredible.
Great to chat with you as well Phil. ODEMAX!
HDRx is absolutely essential for so many uses besides HDR! The extra sensitivity of Dragon means we can use a much higher shutter on the X track without getting noise. It is also a HUGE safety net...
I'll definitely be tweeting NAB stuff all week long! https://twitter.com/royalgalactic
Oh sweet, I'll hit them up. Have a great trip!
WHOA! And I thought my ONE titanium R signed by Jim was something to brag about. I bow down, sir.
Tonaci and I will try as usual. As soon as those doors open Monday morning the Wifi/cellular just comes to a standstill so it's hit or miss, though.
We'll be there! There isn't much in this world that could keep me away from the RED tent on opening day of NAB.
